Every routine benefits from one step you do weekly rather than daily, and in the brightening range this is it.
Mineral masks work by combining clay or mineral content with the treatment actives, so the mask draws lightly while the ingredients sit against the skin for an extended contact time. That extended contact is the advantage — a serum has minutes to work before it absorbs or gets layered over, while a mask has twenty or thirty.
This is the brightening counterpart to the Tea Tree Acne Collagen Cream Mask. Where that one targets congestion, this targets tone and dullness.
Apply an even layer to cleansed skin, leave it for the recommended time, then rinse with warm water. Once a week is enough alongside a daily routine; twice if your skin tolerates it well.
It fits into the TJs brightening sequence after the Milky Cleansing Lotion and before the Soothing & Calming Lotion — that last step is what settles skin after any mask, and the two are worth using together.
- How is a mask better than a serum?
- It is not better, it is different. A mask gives the ingredients twenty or thirty minutes of contact with the skin instead of the couple of minutes a serum gets before absorbing. They do different jobs in the same routine.
- What should I use afterwards?
- The Lightening Soothing & Calming Lotion. It is designed to settle skin after any mask or treatment.
