Massage cream is a category most people outside the trade have never bought, and it is worth explaining what makes it different from a moisturiser.
A massage cream is formulated for **slip** — it stays workable on the skin for the full ten to fifteen minutes of a facial massage rather than absorbing after ninety seconds. That is a deliberate property. If a cream sinks in too fast, the beautician's hands start dragging at the skin, which is uncomfortable and counterproductive.
That is why you cannot substitute your daily moisturiser for this step and why every salon keeps a dedicated massage cream on the back bar.
This is the brightening version, used in the facial sequence where the client's concern is tone and pigmentation rather than firmness or acne. Its counterpart is the Lifting And Firming Massage Cream, which does the same job for mature skin.
Apply generously to cleansed skin and massage in upward circular movements for ten to fifteen minutes, then remove the excess. It is not a leave-on product.
