Every good pedicure starts with a soak, and it is not for relaxation — it is preparation.

Soaking softens the hardened skin on heels and the cuticles around the nail so that scrubbing and cutting afterwards actually work. Skip it and you end up scrubbing dry callus, which takes twice as long and gives half the result. This is the step that makes the rest of the sequence possible.

It comes in a salon quantity, so at home a bottle lasts a very long time.

Add to a bowl of warm water and soak hands or feet for ten to fifteen minutes. Then move to the Hands & Feet Scrub to lift the softened skin, and finish with the Hands & Feet Massage Cream.

Those three products are the complete TJs manicure and pedicure sequence, in that order. Bought together they are the closest thing in the range to a salon appointment at home — and feet in particular respond dramatically to being looked after properly, especially in a climate where open sandals are worn most of the year.

Can I skip the soak and go straight to scrubbing?
You can, but it works much less well. Scrubbing softened skin removes callus properly; scrubbing dry callus mostly just takes longer.
How long should I soak for?
Ten to fifteen minutes in warm water. Longer is not better — over-soaking softens nails too much for clean cutting.
